Pastor Keith Meyer has been the pastor of small, large and mega churches and his most recent pastoral experience was Executive Pastor of Church of the Open Door (Maple Grove) for 17 years. He now writes, speaks, teaches, leads retreats, coaches pastors and leaders and consults through his own organization, Becoming The Change Ministries. He has consulted for various church and para-church organizations for over 30 years and currently specializes in coaching pastors and leaders in their own Soul Care and Spiritual Formation as well as in designing organizational cultures of churches, their staff and lay leadership teams and congregations to become Missional Communities of Transformation. His experience with churches has been one of helping them to restore and rekindle their unique mission and witness to its community. He also is Adjunct Professor in Spiritual Formation at Denver Seminary and a Senior Teaching Fellow, team teaching with Dallas Willard, in the Renovare Institute For Christian Spiritual Formation. Keith and his wife, Cheri, live in Buffalo, Minnesota. They have two grown children, Kyle and Cara and son-in-law, Mike.
Kathy Armbrust is married to Darrell and together they have a blended family of 5 grown boys. She graduated from SCSU with a degree in education (a LONG time ago). Kathy started as the Christian Education Coordinator in 1996. She loves working with and learning from the kids; their child-like faith is an inspiration to her on a daily basis. (Her husband is also the proud owner of a 1948 John Deere Model A tractor. It’s possible they’re the only house in town with a real working tractor that is housed in a real, red barn!)
Dan Kellander comes to us with over 20 years of experience in ministry, much of that in youth ministry or a related field. He attended Bethel College and is a graduate of Mankato State University. He also has continuing education from North Park University with a focus on Biblical studies and Christian Formation. His primary passion and calling to be a youth pastor was formed in high school. He says, “My passion and calling is to serve God in youth ministry… I will be a youth pastor until I can’t do it anymore.” He loves being a kid and staying one. Some things that keep him young are his preference to hanging with youth, as opposed to adults, sports like broomball, football, cycling, exercise, and three children. Dan brings a deep love for Jesus Christ and a passion to share Him with others, especially youth. His love for Christ is expressed by a love for his wife and family and then in youth ministry.
Pam Schirmers started attending Hope in 1987. She has been caring for the building since 1990. She has a passion for serving God by serving His people. Pam is always ready for a building improvement project and she gets a charge out of helping people work on new ideas and projects around the property. She and her husband Steve have 4 grown children and are enjoying the excitement and entertainment of 12 grandchildren. She enjoys working with the youth here at Hope. When time allows you’ll find her tinkering around with perennial plants, creating digital photos, enjoying a book or working on another quilt. Her favorite scripture verse is found in Philippians, chapter 4 and verse 13; I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Janelle Rudningen came to Hope Covenant with 16 years of previous secretarial experience. She began working at Hope Covenant in May of 2004. She is married to Lyle and they live near Clearwater. They have two adult children, Kyle and Karin. They are active members of Rejoice in Clearwater. She sings in the Praise Band and teaches Sunday School. Janelle enjoys flower gardening, singing, playing piano, swimming, and boating. Call her at the church office with questions or information to share with our church family.
